Bhuvaneshwari, Queen of all worlds

Bhuvaneshwari

Bhuvaneshwari, Queen of all worlds

Our super heroine today is the Sovereign Goddess of the Universe, queen of all planes of existence, earthly, spacial and celestial. Her name means exactly that: Bhuvana is “worlds” and Ishwari means “goddess or lady”.

She appears seated on a big Indian chair that is adorned with jewels and precious metals. Dressed in a red sari, she is so beautiful, majestic, her third eye visible showing us that she knows the secrets of the three planes of reality. A luminous halo emanates from her reminding us of the Sun light.

Bhuvaneshwari is one of the first incarnations of the feminine divine principle. All worlds grow and bloom from herself, therefore, she rules over all aspects of manifested experience. She contains the entire cosmos and being the Great Mother that she is, nurtures and sustains it. Furthermore, all the manifested experiences dissolve back into her immense spaciousness following the vital cycles of creation-sustenance-dissolution.

She holds all possibilities for manifestation since she is the original matrix that gives rise to the world that can be seen and perceived through the senses. Being the goddess of cosmic space, her energy takes us to explore the spaces between objects, between activities or between thoughts.

There are three aspects of Bhuvaneshwari that support the path of awakening consciousness:

  • She helps us to see that we exists beyond matter, within the energetic continuum that is life.
  • She brings us to recognize that we all are components of the vast space of existence.
  • Because of her, we can hold personal space as well as respect other people´s space allowing them to go through their own process of understanding and evolution.

The practice for the super heroes of yoga this week is:

Remain centered in the space between breaths, between the different postural forms that you take while being in yoga class, between you and other practitioners, between the different objects that you encounter while walking down the street or in nature. Keep the focus on seeing space more than matter and use these as a meditation technique.

See you on the mat!
Om Shanti
